Privacy note

This is a personal consulting website. It is designed to collect as little about you as possible, and this page says plainly what it does.

What the site itself collects

Almost nothing. The site is a set of static pages with no advertising and no social-media tracking code. It counts page views with GoatCounter, a privacy-focused counter that sets no cookies, stores no personal data and does not track you across sites; it records the page visited, the referring site, a coarse country, browser and screen size, and nothing that identifies you. You can see exactly what it collects in its privacy policy.

Hosting

The pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may record the IP address and request details of visitors in its server logs for security and operational purposes. Its own privacy statement applies to that: GitHub General Privacy Statement.

Fonts

The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details for that request. Google states that it does not use these requests to build profiles.

Maps

The contact section shows city-level maps of Lahore and Paris. They load from Google Maps only when you choose to show them, and at that point Google receives your IP address and browser details under its own privacy policy. The maps show cities, not an address.

The contact form

If you use the form on the Contact section, the details you type (name, organisation, email, phone if given, and your message) are passed once through FormSubmit, a form-relay service, and delivered to my mailbox at fahad@frenchresearcher.com. I use them only to reply to you. They are not added to any mailing list, not shared with anyone else, and I delete the message when the conversation is over unless we go on to work together.

Email and LinkedIn

Writing to me directly by email, or connecting on LinkedIn or Google Scholar, is governed by those services' own terms and by ordinary professional confidentiality on my part.

Your rights

You can ask at any time what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email fahad@frenchresearcher.com and I will act on it within a few working days.

Changes

If the site starts doing anything not described here, this page will be updated first and the date above will change.
